League of Legends TFT 12.5 Overview

After playing on patch 12.5 and having some ups and downs with the meta, I'm planning on doing an overview of my thoughts on what is viable and underwhelming. This is solely my opinion on my experiences and what I have seen work, so if you disagree I implore you to voice your opinion.

I want to start off by going over my favorite compositions for this patch and what has given me the most enjoyment and most success. I'll start off with Innovators, there are a few ways you can play this comp which is why its one of my favorites, it's super flexible on what units you can play along side it and it's not hard to hit your units early game going into late game. One composition would be going for Twitch reroll with Tryndamere or Warwick and going for 5 Innovators with Camille. You're LVL 8 comp would look something like: Twitch, Ekko, Singed, Seraphine, Warwick/Tryndamere, Zilean, Camille, and Ezreal. Obviously if you hit Jayce you can substitute that with one of your innovator units like Ezreal or Seraphine. This composition is super easy to hit because you slow roll for your 3 star tier 1 units and if you don't hit or are on a massive winstreak, you can fast level and pivot off your Camille for another Clockwork unit like Orianna, and Twitch and Warwick/Tryndamere for +2 open slots. Innovators is one of the more highly contested and super consistent team comps on this list, however, I would consider this one of the easier comps to pickup in the game due to how flexible and set in stone the core of this composition is in the game.

Another team comp you can run is Renata Bruisers, Which consist of Renata as your main DPS for tick damage and slows, Vi as your secondary DPS unit along with 5 other Bruisers and Silco to round off the team. This composition can be a little harder to hit because of the amount of high cost units you have to hit to round off this team comp, but you can easily play any AP carry unit in place of Renata and play 4 Bruisers until you get to that late  game spike of yours. You will need some specific items for this comp, Blue Buff or Shojin being one of them on Renata, which you'll want to consider starting Tear of the Goddess in the initial carousel. The flexible thing about this start is Glove and Recurve bow give you good pivots for itemization if you need to play another comp and if you don't hit your Bruiser units to play Renata Bruisers you can always play Blue Buff Brand or Ahri. These pivot comps are something you're going to have to identify yourself when playing, because you cannot pre plan an entire game based on one or two carousel rounds early on in the game. I would rate this as an easy comp to manage but a harder comp to play due to having to understand the game a bit more than the average player.

Finally, one of two Challenger comps would be my last recommendation, one being VIP Draven or Reroll Tryndamere. I pair these two comps together due to the similarity of their itemization. You will more than likely want an Infinity Edge and Bloodthirster as your primary items and depending on what you hit unit wise and what items you're given will determine which comp would be better. If you get more defensive items, that being Cloak, Vest or Giants Belt, you may want to consider going Reroll Tryndamere. This is because Tryndamere goes in deep when fighting against any comp and he'll need at least one defensive item on him so he can survive his dive into the enemy team. However, having a few defensive items on your main tank, Leona, will allow Draven to ramp up his DPS as long as the enemy isn't directly on top of him. You'll have to use your own discretion with figuring out if it would be a Reroll Tryndamere game versus VIP Draven. There are a few other factors being your augments and what comps are contested on the field. For example, if someone is going a Challenger comp it may be more difficult to go Tryndamere Reroll if there are going to be less of them in the pool, so you'd be better off playing a less optimized comp of VIP Draven due to it being easier to play. This ideology works both ways for each comp, less so for VIP Draven because you'll only need 3 copies of Draven versus the 9 for Tryndamere.

Hopefully these compositions are to your liking to some degree, these were the most some of the most consistent compositions I played within the last few weeks. Obviously I left out some meta comps that may have been excluded, like I stated in the initial excerpt, this is my opinion of what's best in the current standing of TFT. Each game is different so you'll have to adapt for what occurs and play your best, so this is not to discourage playing other comps. In the right circumstances every comp is viable, you'll just have to know what to play it.
