There was a recent patch on live servers for League of Legends (12.5) and I was planning on reviewing the updated champion list, giving my thoughts, and seeing how this will effect the game going forward.
NERFS
Ahri: Fox-Fire base damage decrease and increase mana cost on Fox-Fire and Charm
Like I had mentioned on my previous patch notes for the 12.4 update, I had thought Ahri was a bit over-tuned, so it is nice seeing some small tweaks to her kit to reel her in a bit under control.
Gwen: Passive damage against monsters decreased and bonus attack range on her Skip 'n Slash was lowered
Although jungle Gwen with ghost and ignite summoners was a menace I think lowering her increase attack range on her Skin 'n Slash will make her less played and she soon be buffed again in future patches. Her dash along with increase attack range and speed is core to her kit so taking that away makes her feel ineffective while playing.
Master Yi: Alpha strike base damage is lowered the higher level it is, and an update to Master Yi's Wuju Style ability all the while lowering its base true damage.
The slight nerfs to Master Yi's kit is to see how Yi is played in the current meta game and to see how he fairs into varying matchups without making him over powered.
Xin Zhao: Decrease in his ultimate duration and increased the CD for his charge ability
Xin could feel a little dominating if he got too far ahead so slight nerfs like this wont change him at all, but will allow some high tier players to take advantage of this nerf. Sad thing is that no one really plays Xin Zhao in high tier games.
BUFFS
Kennen: Higher ratios on his Electrical Surge
Not many people play Kennen due to there be better picks, however, this will be a slice of life change for offensive Kennen players in the top lane. I don't think this will make anyone wonder if Kennen mid is a viable pick.
Samira: Overall stat boost and CD lowered on her abilties
Most Samira players will feel good about this change and might be able to see small differences in their gameplay.
Seraphine: Lower mana cost and CD on abilities, however lowered shields as well
Seraphine can sometimes feel like a lane bully in the support role do to her good sustain game after she makes it through the earlier levels of laning phase. Hopefully with these changes she'll be a little more popular and not be as much a nuisance as she was prior.
Wanted to wrap this up by saying that this was a short patch update because this is in mid season of League of Legends. As always I'll provide the general picture of what changed for the most recent patch notes (12.5)
